Disneyland Resort Height Requirements 2026 — Both Parks, Every Ride
SaveLast updated: March 1, 2026
Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California is where it all started — Walt Disney's original theme park. The resort includes two parks: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Like Walt Disney World in Florida, Disneyland Resort is exceptionally family-friendly, with many rides that have no height requirement at all. The parks are smaller and more walkable than their Orlando counterparts, making them ideal for families with young children. Here is every height requirement you need to know.
How Disneyland Measures Height
Disneyland uses the same measurement system as Walt Disney World. Cast members measure guests at ride entrances using a fixed measuring stick. Shoes may be worn, hats must be removed. Borderline guests may receive a colored wristband that is valid all day, so they do not need to be re-measured at every ride. The same wristband system applies at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
Disneyland Park Height Requirements
Disneyland Park is the original Magic Kingdom — home to classics like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and It's a Small World, all of which have no height requirement. Of its 16 active attractions, 7 have no minimum height. The rides that do require a minimum range from 35 inches (Gadget's Go Coaster) up to 48 inches (Space Mountain and Matterhorn Bobsleds). Disneyland Park is excellent for children of all ages.

Disney California Adventure Height Requirements
Disney California Adventure has a mix of family-friendly and thrilling attractions. Of its 12 active rides, 4 have no height requirement. The park features Radiator Springs Racers (40 inches), Incredicoaster (48 inches), and Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT! (40 inches). Pixar Pier and Cars Land offer great options for younger guests.
Disney California Adventure Rides with Height Requirements
Disneyland Resort offers a Rider Switch program at every ride with a height requirement, just like Walt Disney World. One adult can ride while the other waits with the child, then they switch without re-queuing. Ask a cast member at the ride entrance to set it up.
